Congratulations on the appointment of Lincoln Smith as the 2024-2025 Yazoo City High School Boys Basketball Head Coach!!

Lincoln Smith comes to Yazoo City after serving one year as the Varsity Assistant at Ridgeland High School, where they were 6A runner-up this past season. Prior to Ridgeland High, Coach Smith served as Head Coach at Puckett High and Pearl Jr. High, also one year at Jim Hill High as an assistant.

With a passion to see youth succeed, Coach Smith served as a community advocate in Rochester, NY and in Mississippi before coaching. During this time, he also conducted basketball leagues, team training, and individual training sessions. A six-year pro, Coach Smith played abroad and two seasons with the World Famous Harlem Globetrotters.

Coach Smith played collegiately at Mississippi State University, where they won 2x SEC Western Division Championships (2003, 2004), the SEC Tournament Championship (2002), and the SEC Regular Season Championship (2004). They also participated in the NCAA Tournament (2002, 2003, 2004).

Coach Smith is a native of Clinton, MS and attended high school at Simmons High in Hollandale, MS.
