MASD Athletics Game Update:
January 12, 2024
The game that was scheduled for today, January 12, 2024, between Humphreys County and Amanda Elzy has been cancelled. We will send out updates on the rescheduled date.
Parents and Staff of the Mississippi Achievement School District:
The school day will proceed as normal. Be reminded that today is a 60% day for students. Parents may pick up report cards between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. in Humphreys County and Yazoo City. However, the report card pick up time for Yazoo City High School and Larry Summers CTE is 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. due to the basketball game with Canton today.
Parents and Staff of the Mississippi Achievement School District:
District leaders are monitoring the weather for Friday morning. The forecast predicts a level 3 out of 5 severe storm risk, with 5 being the highest on the scale. Damaging high wind, hail, and tornadoes are possible between 6 a.m. and noon tomorrow. We will update parents in the morning by 5:30 a.m. regarding the start time for school in the morning.

Parents of McCoy Elementary School
This morning, we confirmed that we have water at McCoy. All students are expected to attend school today. Join me in thanking our Mayor and the Public Service Commission of Yazoo City for working around the clock to resolve this issue. Thank you for your support, cooperation, and patience during this time. Let's have school today!!!

Fortunately, the city worked on the waterline today and returned to the property this evening around 8:00 p.m. to turn on the water to test the fix. Thankfully, we currently have water in the school. We will check the school again later this evening and early in the morning. You will receive another message by 6:15 a.m. in the morning to confirm we will open the school for students. We apologize for the inconvenience, and we thank you for your patience, support and cooperation.
Parents of Yazoo City School District,
The city worked diligently into the night to have water for us at McCoy. However, we discovered more problems this morning. Because there is no water at McCoy, McCoy students will not report to school today. Woolfolk Middle and Yazoo City High students will attend school today. McCoy teachers will report to work as expected.

Yazoo City Community, please join us today, August 28, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. for our Community Engagement Council Meeting. This meeting will be held at the Yazoo City High School Cafeteria. The purpose of this meeting is to address MASD (Public Schools within Yazoo City) issues and make recommendations for improvement.
