William Carey University’s Program of Research and Evaluation for Public Schools (PREPS) has recognized five of six of MASD’s schools as 2023 PREPS Award Winning Schools.
PREPS is a statewide research and advocacy organization that awards schools based on achievement and/or growth. Achievement Awards for 2023 are based on a school/grade level with a scale score increase of at least twice the state average on the state-wide assessments. Ida Greene Elementary School, O.M. McNair Middle School, Humphreys County High School, Bettie E. Woolfolk Middle School, and Yazoo City High School were all PREPS Award winning schools.
Schools were awarded as follows:
- Ida Greene Elementary School: 3rd Grade English Language Arts Achievement Award
- Ida Greene Elementary School: 4th Grade English Language Arts Achievement Award
- O.M. McNair Middle School: 8th Grade Mathematics Achievement Award
- Humphreys County High School: Algebra I Achievement Award
- Humphreys County High School: English II Achievement Award
- Woolfolk Middle School: 7th Grade English Language Arts Achievement Award
- Woolfolk Middle School: 7th Grade Mathematics Achievement Award
- Yazoo City High School: Algebra I Achievement Award
