Deirdre Cummings-Reed is a native of Silver City MS, and a graduate of Humphreys County High School. She continued her educational journey at Alcorn State University, Home of the Braves, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. Mrs. Cummings-Reed began her teaching career in Texas where she completed the Texas Teacher Alternative Certification Program.  She has taught 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade. She has also served as a Math Teacher-Leader, Data Specialist, and 21st Century Coordinator. After spending 12 years educating students in Texas, she returned home to serve as the Teacher-Leader (2020) at Ida Greene Elementary where she currently holds the position of Dean of Students.
